SuperStock GP Meeanee 2006

 16/12/06

Went to meeanee on saturday for the superstock gp,changed from a two day meeting to one which i think was a good idea, over 35 cars were in the pits with most of the big name's there, they had 2 groups and each had 2 heat's to find there grid positions for the 15 lap final.the stand out driver for me was 14n dale ewers who showed good pace in his 2 heat races, but the gear box let go in the final and only did about 70mtrs of the race,77p shane penn was in the lead and never looked back,he went on the take the race with 71p kim lace 2nd and 66r steve hampton 3rd,the only major crash was when 10p peter rees took out 53p kevin roberts on pit corner with the tank getting rolled and 10p having rear end damage ending both there nights.

the red lights were a problem they came on when drivers were aganst the wall and had not given the thumds down but the lights went on? in the final the reds went on for what no one knows then went green 5secounds later?

the stockcars  were really good with action on every lap heaps of hits and plenty of cars been showen the wall.hawkes bay seems to have plenty of stirrers in the stockcars! it was well worth the trip up.
