Opening Night Palmerston North

With the wheather being crap alweek it was good to see it come fine on saturday,just in time for some stockcar racing.The car count was very good for an opening night with 24 stockcars and 20 superstocks.There was a good turn out of visiters also with cars from wangauni,wellington and hawkes bay.The 1st stockcar race did'nt start so well for four cars,58w neville harrod getting stuck on the bonnet of 24p and two more cars getting caught aswell.

When the race restarted 22w when on to take the win.17p Shane simpson showed good pace in the race but he came back later to win the feature race.race two for the stockcars and more pushing and shoving from the guys saw 53p Todd O'Donnell come through for the win.Superstocks were fast and it was great to see so many car's and still more to come.71pkim lace 58p peter bengston 77p wayne norris and 3nz shane penn all on the pace with the 71p,58p and 77p all having wins.With the first meeting done and dusted i really injoyed the racing and there was plenty of action for an opening night meeting.
