PALMERSTON NORTH SPEEDWAY 248 GLOBAL CHALLENGE
Huge night at palmy with 36 superstocks and over 50 stockcars racing in two groups. With 36 superstocks there they were all put in togeather for the global challenge which made for some very fast racing. One great thing to see was the return of Barry Podjursky but it only lasted about 1 and half laps as he went infield in the first heat but never returned for the rest but was great to see him back. Three joblin car all painted the same was also a great site and full credit to the team for presenting there cars this way. Big surprise for me was that Peter Rees never really fired allnight and seemed to be off the pace a little. The overseas driver's were never going to be in the hunt for this title as none really showing anything. But Malcom Nagati was showing plenty as he made his presense felt with some very good driving. In the end though it was Shane Penn again with his no nonsence driving and picking the right lines to take away the title, with the car hooking up all night it looks good for the New Zealand title next week.
