Palmerston North Speedway
248 Global Challenge
26-1-08

Saturday night saw the running of the 248 Global Challenge,41 superstocks turned up so they had two Qualifying heat's and a repechage to find 28 kiwis to take on the rest, the qualifying races were fast and with some action with 29p Billy richardson doing a rollover and two wanganui cars having a bit of biffo.

The first heat was a normal first heat with most cars trying to get good points but then 2nz Peter rees was rolling down the front strait having got missed up with ome other cars.55r Frankie wainman jr went on for the win.

heat two and with 2nz having no points from the first race it was intersting to see what he was going to do but not much really happened excepted another pom went on to win the heat,53gb John lund taking max points,85h Jared wade was making life hard for the oversea's drivers which seems to be his trade mark.19c Malcom ngatai had a good run aswell and was 3rd on points after the 2nd heat 55r 2nd and the little chev6 of 66p Kelvin gray was 1st.

Heat 3 and this was a strange race with some local drivers helping out the oversea's drivers, but was to now avail as 66p Kelvin gray went on to win the Global challenge from 55r and 390gb Stu smith jr.

The racing was good and there was plenty of action for us stockcar nuts, one thing i heard was it my become a two day event,i think i should stay as it is and make it the best and biggest one day superstock event of the season just my thought's.

seeya next time WAL
