9/12/06 Manawatu Superstock Champs

Hi there,The 86p racing team had no racing this weekend. The main feature event was the Manawatu Superstock Champs,21 cars were in the pits but only 20 cars came out for the 1st heat,There was some good racing in this heat with 4p Joel Pitcher jumping out to lead most of the race, with other cars battling each other 8p Scott Miers moved up to second place and on the last lap and last corner he moved 4p out of the way and took the win,but with 4p coming back down off the wall he collected about four other cars, one of them was 7p Shane Penn who ended up with a DNF and 58p also.

Heat 2 was abit of a drag race with not much going on,with drivers trying to get max points.Heat 3 and it was all on with action from the start with the tank hitting and blocking a few cars,61p Gary Trotter came under attack and ended up with a right flat tyre slowing his progress, with the race just over half way through 8p went to take 33p Craig Rolston to the wall but missed and 94p driven by Barry Podjursky put 8p up the wall, the tank hit one of the posts and rolled over on to its roof then 61p hit the roll cage. After the restart 58p keeped his lead and took the win.

With the points all added up 68p Kelin Gray was 1st , 10p Peter Rees 2nd and 71p Kim Lcae 3rd.

All in all it was a good meeting with plenty of action in the superstocks and stockcars.

cheers wal
