Hi there the 5/6th of january saw the running of the north island stockcar champs at palmerston north speedway.86p racing team took part in the qualifying on friday,first heat and we were off pole and had a good start with dwayne leading the first lap and a half slipped back to 4th and with about 2-3laps to go got spun up another palmy car!!!! 86p lot about 7 spots and ended up with 14 points for the first heat.the car was going real good and with a few minor adjustments we started heat2. The car was on the pace about mid pack when got pushed into the pit corner hitting two cars that where there already,the battery died and that was the end of any chance of making it to the finals,back in the pits and new battery went in more fuel and off we went,heat2 and near the back of the grid 86p went to help other palmy cars get through with dwayne teaming up with 33p they rolled 19w near the grand stand but had shock damage and that was the end of the racing for the night and the weekend,
well done to rob miers 15p for wining and 77p wayne norris 3rd 2nd was michael gray
all in all it was a great weekend of stockcar racing
