Opening Night Palmerston North Speedway 18-10-08

The season finaly got under way at palmy, with fine weather for most of the day untill about 20minutes to start time when the wind picked up and some showers came in for the first few races, the showers stopped for the rest of the night but it was bitterly cold.

The stockcars where first up and there were some nicely turned out cars, peter rees and scott mcintosh started the biff early and both were in the wars for most of the night.

With this going on and other cars battling each other this allowed 557p darrel wallace to take two win for the night with some very good driving and keeping out of trouble,a driver to watch

The other stockcar to win a race was 67p alec wilson, another young driver to keep an eye on.

The superstocks were dominated by the silver bullet 7p shane penn who won all three races,he was smooth all night and looks good for the rest of the season.

There were a few new car's out and once they get things sorted out they should be on the pace. One thing i did notice was 55p fred dykstra,at times he had this car flying and it was good to see him out so early in the season and going good.

19c malcom ngatai and 515r stan hickey had nights to forget with both cars in the wars but it was good to see them here racing and all the other visting drivers aswell

seeya next time Wal
