WANGANUI SPEEDWAY
14-2-09
WEST COAST STOCKCAR CHAMPS

went to wanganui to watch the west coast stockcar champs.this track allways has carnage and there was that on saturday night, not the huge hit's that you may see at other tracks but just ones that keep your eyes scanning the track to see what happens next.

there were about 26 cars in the first heat and with 99p ron tye racing there was not much point watching the leaders untill they caught up to 99p.after every race i've seen with 99p racing he has either flat tryes, broken steering or side rails bent this guy just loves to stirr and i hope he carries on.but he was not the only one stirring after the first heat DNF 52v francis potaka was showing the bumper to a few cars.46v allan levein took out the first heat in a very good drive from near the front.heat two was much of the same with plenty of damage to cars after hitting the wall on bends 1-2 but 4v josh kahui came away with the win and the hutt park racing team were looking good going into the last heat.heat 3 and 22 cars started but no 99p when he came out the pit gates something fell off his sterring and the wheels were going in all directions.this heat had 13w? taking on anyone, he and 52v were having a private battle most of the race.when the smoke had cleared 98v gerry linklater took the win but 3rd place went to 31v kevin free who was driving this car.

Placings are 1st 4v josh kahui-2nd 6v paul ellis -3rd 46v allan levein welldone to all drivers.

onething that wanganui does better than palmy is they sell a programme,it has some reading in it,photos, points updates for all classes and driver's names, now this might not sound much but i for one dont mind paying for something like this as i do collect programmes but a track like palmy should be able to have something better than what we get at the moment in the way of a programme.ok there my little grumble

till next time seeya wal
